	Shay Locos
The Shay Locomotive is the best known of three main types of geared steam locomotives. On the right side of the loco is the picture people know best with the two or three vertical cylinders driving a longitudinal driveshaft connected to each of the powered trucks. There are four distinct classes of Shay Locos: Class A: Generally between 10 and 20 Tons. Class B: Between 24 and 60 Tons and looks more like a regular loco. Class C: Between 70 and 125 Tons with a three-truck design. Class C: Over 150 Tons with a four-truck design.
